What they do: Girls Place provides After School, Athletics and Summer Day Camp programs for girls ages 5-18.
What YOU can do to help: Volunteers often participate in Girls Place programs as tutors, counselors and coaches for our children. Volunteering at the Girls Place is a great way to make a difference in a young girl’s life.
The Girls Place is ALWAYS in need of extra helping hands. Volunteers should have a personal stake in the work they do here at the Girls Place. Volunteers are expected to:
* Observe children in educational situations and recreational play
* Engage in one-on-one relationships, providing hands on assistance to children in need of specific attention
* Aid in program planning and development
* Develop lasting friendships with influential and educational implications
Depending on the area in which volunteers choose to become involved, responsibilities will vary. However, volunteers are accountable for providing positive, enriching experiences that will enhance the experience of our girls.
