What they do: The Jordan Klausner Foundation provides the following services throughout the North Central Florida region:
Conductive Education: helps children with cerebral palsy and numerous other neuromuscular disabilities learn to improve movement and speech so they can live more independently and actively
Making available needed adaptive equipment
Helping to develop education plans
Educating people on the laws that benefit children with disabilities
Providing legal services and counseling
Assisting people with contacting private and government funding services
What YOU can do to help: Volunteers are needed in the following areas.
Gainesville Conductive Education Academy (State of Florida school that is for children who have disabilities): engaging children in activities such as art, music, games, reading, singing, storytelling, learning, physical endurance, and physical development
Advocacy: being an advocate for the child’s family during the creation of Individual Services Plans (ISP) and Individual Education Plans (IEP)
Educating families on protecting the civil rights of their children
Fundraisers: help plan and conduct fundraising programs
