activities to help girls reach their highest
potential.

What they do: The Girls Club of Alachua
County offers a variety of programs, including after
school sports and recreation camp; summer sports camps;
summer day camps; specialty classes; and volleyball,
basketball, track and field (depending on the
season). The Girls Club is dedicated to encouraging
girls to give to themselves and others, work at
developing lasting relationships, and reach their highest
potential.

Each volunteer must complete an interview with
the athletic or program director.
DONATIONS are also needed!
Arts and Crafts: lanyard string, beads,
tempera paints, scissors, construction paper, embroidery
string, butcher paper, pens, pencils, glue, knitting
needles, poster paints, markers, crayons
Inside Activities: Legos, linkin logs,
playing cards, board games like Connect Four and
Checkers
Furniture: locking cabinets that
are mobile, storage bins and cabinets, cubbies on wheels,
TV carts, bean bags
Outside Activities and Supplies:
balloons, whiffle balls, whiffle bats, kick balls,
outdoor water games such as pools and slip and slides,
flag football belts, tennis racquets, kid-friendly
footballs, bouncy balls, seeds and gardening supplies,
chalk, jump ropes (long ones), tetherballs, pinnies
(sports vests), hoola hoops
Vehicles: bus (minimum of 16 passengers),
new vinyl for current vehicle seats
Athletic Equipment: soccer balls (sizes
3,4,5), soccer nets (full size), volleyball nets,
volleyball carts, basketballs, cones
Technology: portable CD players,
children’s DVDs, DVD players, projectors, “Eye on Nye”
DVDs
Tools: saws, screw drivers,
drills
Medical Supplies: athletic tape,
antibiotic ointments, band aids, eye drops, cotton balls,
anti-itch creams
Clothing: socks, shorts (for 5-6 year
olds), new underwear (for 5-6 year olds)
Educational: grammar books and academic
enrichment books, dictionary (more than 300,000 entries),
flash cards for math and reading, thesaurus (more than
150,000 entries)
