Partnership for Strong Families (Wish Upon a Star – Holiday Gift Drive)

Wish Upon a Star is a gift drive organized by Partnership for Strong Families that gathers gifts for disadvantaged children in the community who are in the foster care system or who live in households of abuse or neglect.

Who they are: The mission for Partnership for Strong Families is to strengthen the ability of the community to nurture and protect children by improving, maintaining, and building a network of services that support families. 

What they do: During the holiday season each year, Partnership for Strong Families organizes a holiday gift drive called Wish Upon a Star.  Children in the foster care system or who live in households of neglect or abuse write down 3 wishes of gifts (each about $25) they would like for the holiday season.  Partnership for Strong Families then passes on these wish lists to groups, organizations, departments, clubs, or individuals who express an interest in participating in this program.  For each child that is sponsored, the minimum gift requirement is to fulfill at least 2 of the child’s 3 wishes.   

What YOU can do to help: Volunteers are needed to sponsor children’s holiday wish lists and provide them with gifts.  Contact the Partnership for Strong Families for more information and for information on other ways to volunteer.  Here is the volunteer application if you would like to help out!
